Turmeric Milk Latte's

I fell in love with turmeric for it's numerous health benefits, but now I'm completely obsessed with  this wildly delicious turmeric milk latte, also known as golden milk. 

Turmeric is widely known for it's anti-inflammatory properties, but not very many people realize just how much this finger-staining root could change their lives. So, let's go over the benefits of turmeric for a quick second... 

  • anti-inflammatory (aids in joint pain, skin issues, speeds up workout recovery, etc.)
  • anti-cancerous 
  • anti-bacerial (boosts immune system)
  • improves sleep 
  • aids with digestion
  • anti-aging 

Along with other things, I started using turmeric daily after my surgery for thyroid cancer, and I recovered better and faster than the doctors ever imagined. I continue to drink golden milk and/or put turmeric root in my smoothies almost daily. I notice a HUGE difference in my digestion and overall inflammation. 

This turmeric latte is super easy to make thanks to Gaia Herbs, and it is best when drank about 30-45 minutes before bed. If you don't have access to a Whole Foods Market, I would recommend ordering this product online. You can even find it on Amazon! 

Ingredients:

1 cup coconut or almond milk 

2 tsp golden milk powder by Gaia

1 T local honey 

Directions:

Add all ingredients into a small sauce pan and place over the stove. With medium heat, continuously stir the liquid so the turmeric doesn't get chunky. Once warm, pour into a mug or cup of your choice!
