All Things Makeup

Hi friends!

So, this is a pretty funny blog for me to write. You wouldn’t know it, but I am somewhat “new” to jumping on the clean beauty bandwagon. I tried it YEARS ago - and did not like any of the products that I tried. So, after a few more years of living with harmful chemicals on my face I finally decided to give it another try, and I am so glad I did!

Now, I can honestly say I have about 95% clean beauty products including my skin care, makeup, hair products, etc. However today we are just going to talk makeup due to readers requests!

So, let’s dive in. First off, you should know that I am no makeup expert. I like to keep things as simple as possible, and I don’t wear eyeshadow, lip color, or any highlighters or anything else that seems to be a trend.

  1. Foundation -Ere Perez, oat milk foundation, chai color. I found this gem at Salt & Water in Oklahoma City and have since fallen in love. It’s great coverage without feeling like a cake, all while looking natural. I use a foundation brush to brush it on, which makes me feel like I’m painting my own face, hah. My brush is an old Chanel brush from my chemical days that seems to work just fine! If you’re like me and don’t like to do much in-person shopping, you can also buy this foundation online.

  2. Bronzer - Manasi (7), custom contour duo. I also found this at Salt & Water in Oklahoma City and will truly NEVER use anything else. I use it as a contour/bronzer around my face and on my cheekbones. For someone who is naturally very very pale, this is a must in my world!

  3. Blush- So, remember when I said 95% of my products were clean? Well, this falls in that 5% category. I am still using my old Chanel blush, which I do love. As soon as it runs out I will switch to the Manasi blush, which you can find here, but I’m sure there are plenty of clean beauty blushes to try!

  4. Eyebrows - The BrowGal, tinted brow gel. Also found at Salt & Water in Oklahoma City, I really love this one. It’s super easy to fill inn your eyebrows and you don’t end up with it all over your skin. It’s basically mascara for your eyebrows. They also make a clear gel you can use, but I haven’t tried that one yet!

  5. Eyeliner- Stila, waterproof liquid eye liner. While I’m not 100% positive about this, I’m going to say that this likely falls into my 5% category as well. I’ve used this for years and it’s also lasted for what seems like years so I haven’t replaced it yet. It’s super easy to put on, and for someone who doesn’t always wear it, nor is the best at applying it, this has been a breeze to use! However, I plan to switch to the Honest Beauty liquid eyeliner after this one.

  6. Mascara - Honest Beauty, extreme length mascara + lash primer combo. One of my good friends introduced me to this one and I completely love it. I naturally have blonde eyelashes that are basically nonexistent, so this primer + mascara duo has been awesome. It seems to be lasting me a long time as well! It’s cheap, clean, and effective :)

If you have any questions or want to see anything else just say the word! While I may not know all of the answers, I can certainly try and share my personal experience with products.

That’s all for now, hope to see you soon!

xo,

Emma
