Hemp Protein Bars

I have always been a big fan of energy bars. I think it’s just because I am always on the go and find it helpful to have pre-made bars ready to take with me for a busy day. However, I really don’t care for the ones you buy in stores because they are full of overly processed sugars, not to mention other ingredients that we cannot pronounce.

So, when I was creating a 21-day sports nutrition program, I created several bars for people to make at home, and this is one of them! I really love how simple these are. They work great for on-the-go fuel.

Hemp Protein Bars

Makes 12 bars

Ingredients

1 cup raw almonds

½ cup almond butter

2 cups pitted dates

1T cinnamon

½ cup plain organic hemp protein powder

2 T pure maple syrup

Directions

Place almonds in a food processor and mix until they are chopped up into pieces.

Add in the dates and continue to mix.

Add in the rest of the ingredients and process until it forms a thick dough.

Remove from food processor and press down into a small baking pan or container lined with parchment paper.

Place in the freezer for 1-4 hours or until hard.

Remove from freezer and cut into 12 bars

Store them in the fridge or freezer. I recommend packaging them into individual bags or container so it is easy to grab when you are on-the-go.

Enjoy!
