Chocolate Almond Smoothie

Sometimes, you just need chocolate. And by you, I mean me. I pretty much always have a weakness for chocolate, so if I can find a way to sneak it into my breakfast smoothie I am ALL IN.

This smoothie is a great option for breakfast or even as a post-workout meal. I originally created it for a Sports Nutrition 21-Day Program that I created a couple years ago, but I quickly adopted it as my own personal go-to.

Chocolate Almond Smoothie

Serves 1 / Makes 16 ounces

Ingredients

1 1/2 frozen bananas 

2 dates 

1 cup homemade almond milk or cold water 

2T almond butter 

1T flaxseed 

1T hemp seed 

2T cacao powder 

Ice if needed 

Directions

Add all ingredients into a high speed blender. Blend until smooth. Feel free to add more liquid if needed.
